8.15. Back working brake cylinder
Details of the back working brake cylinder
Removal
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. Remove the brake drum. |
2. Using a clip, press a brake hose in the place, the closest to the working brake cylinder. |
3. Using flat-nose pliers, remove the top returnable spring squeezing brake shoes. Remove the top ends of brake shoes from pistons of the working brake cylinder. |
4. Remove dirt around a junction of a brake hose and a back part of the working brake cylinder. Unscrew a connecting nut. Being careful, take a brake pipe from the working brake cylinder and close it a stopper. |
5. Unscrew two bolts of fastening of the working brake cylinder to a brake board. Being careful, remove the working brake cylinder. |

Repair
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. Purify dust and dirt from the working brake cylinder. |
2. Remove dustproof covers from each end of the cylinder. |
3. Take both pistons with sealing rings from the brake cylinder. |
4. Check a condition of pistons and the brake cylinder for wear, corrosion and other defects. |
5. Install sealing rings on the piston, grease them with pure brake fluid and install pistons in the brake cylinder. |
6. Establish dustproof caps. |

Installation
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. Wipe a brake board, install the brake pipeline on the brake cylinder and put the connecting clamp on two turns. |
2. Screw in bolts of fastening of the working brake cylinder. Finally tighten a nut of fastening of the brake pipeline. |
3. Remove a clip from a brake hose. |
4. Install brake shoes on pistons of the brake cylinder and establish the top returnable spring. |
5. Install the brake drum. |
6. Remove air from the brake system. |
