4.1.4. Radiator

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Models without air conditioning
1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
2. Lift a forward part of the car and record on supports.
3. Merge cooling liquid from the cooling system, having disconnected a hose from the radiator basis.
4. Remove assembled the radiator fan from a back part of a radiator.
5. Disconnect a hose of a broad tank and, in the presence, remove a small hose of the thermostat from the top part of a radiator.
6. Remove the top hose on the left side of a radiator.
7. On models with the automatic transmission disconnect hoses from the heat exchanger.
8. Disconnect electric sockets from the radiator fan.
9. Disconnect electric sockets from a fan thermoswitch (it is specified by an arrow).
10. Release fastening of electric wires to the top part of a radiator.
11. Remove a front grille.
12. In the presence remove air guides from the left and right side of a radiator and a hose of the heat exchanger of the steering drive with the amplifier.
13. On models with the diesel engine of 2,0 l unscrew a bolt of fastening of a tank of the amplifier of steering from the top part of a radiator.
14. Remove a hose of the heat exchanger of the steering drive with the amplifier.
15. Unscrew bolts and remove a suspension bracket of the top part of a radiator.
16. Remove the top suspension brackets of fastening of a radiator.
17. Take a rubber damper from the top suspension bracket of a radiator.
18. Remove a radiator (a photo at the left), lifting it from rubber pillows in the lower frame up (the arrangement of a rubber pillow of a radiator in a forward lower frame is specified by an arrow a photo on the right). Take a radiator from a motor compartment.
Models with air conditioning
19. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
20. Lift a forward part of the car and record on supports.
21. Merge cooling liquid, disconnecting the lower hose of a radiator.
22. Remove assembled the electric fan of a radiator from a back part of a radiator.
23. Disconnect a hose of a broad tank and remove a small hose of the thermostat from the top part of a radiator.
24. Remove the top hose on the left side of a radiator.
25. On models with the automatic transmission disconnect hoses from the heat exchanger.
26. Disconnect the electric socket from the fan of cooling and a thermoswitch of the fan. Also disconnect the electric socket from an air conditioning thermoswitch.
27. Remove a front bumper.
28. Unscrew bolts of fastening of the condenser of air conditioning and the additional electric fan from a forward part of a radiator and move them aside, without disconnecting from them hoses.
29. If it is necessary, unscrew a bolt of fastening of the evaporator.
30. On diesel engines with the heat exchanger remove an air supply branch pipe.
31. Unscrew bolts and remove the top suspension brackets of a radiator, then take a radiator from the lower rubber support up.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. If the radiator was removed in connection with reduction of capacity, wash out its stream waters in two directions. Outside blow a radiator compressed air.
2. If the radiator proceeds, do not try to make or solder the place of a leakage since plastic details of a radiator will be damaged.
3. Insignificant leakage of a radiator can be eliminated with radiator sealant use.
4. Check a condition of the lower rubber support of a radiator and if necessary replace them.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal taking into account the next moments:

 – check that the lower ledges on a radiator were established in rubber support;
 – check that all hoses are correctly connected and reliably fixed by collars;
 – in conclusion fill in cooling liquid in the cooling system.
